Credit Data CRB Launches Research Challenge
On March 26, 2025, at the scenic Moneymen Park in Blantyre, Credit Data CRB took a bold step toward shaping the future of financial inclusion in Malawi under the Agenda 2063 framework. Surrounded by bright, ambitious students and esteemed guests, we officially launched this Initiative, inviting final-year students to conduct research and write dissertations that could drive meaningful change in our financial sector.
HESLGB SIGNS AN AGREEMENT WITH CREDIT DATA
In August 2018, the Higher Education Students’ Loans and Grants Board (HESLGB) signed an agreement with Credit Data, a Credit Reference Bureau.
RESEARCH CHALLENGE PROPOSAL SUBMISSION EXTENDED
The deadline for submitting research proposals has been extended to 31st July 2025 to give more students the opportunity to participate without stress.
A GLOBAL PLATFORM FOR TRANSFORMATIVE DIALOGUE IN CREDIT REPORTING
Our Managing Director, Patricia Mwase will be representing Credit Data and Malawi at large at the International Committee on Credit Reporting Meeting in Cape Town, South Africa.
SUMMARY OF CREDIT REPORTS CONSUMPTION IN THE YEAR 2024
In 2024, credit report consumption hit 385,959—up 52% from the previous year. Microfinance led with 266,718 reports, followed by banking at 117,829. Cooperatives saw the highest growth rate at 206%.
HESLGB is now authorized to share information about loan defaulters with Credit Reference Bureaus
