Where We're Coming From
Established in 2005, we've grown to become Malawi's leading Credit Reference Bureau.
Foundation
Credit Data Reference and Debt Management Limited, a Malawian company, was incorporated on 17th March 2005 under the Companies Act, 1984.
Rebranding
On 19th November 2010, the company was rebranded to Credit Data CRB Limited under a special resolution and with ministerial approval to reflect its shift from debt management to a full credit reference and rating focus.
Licensed
Licensed by the Reserve Bank of Malawi in 2011 to operate as a Credit Reference Bureau under the CRB Act 2010.
Amendments
The CRB Act was amended by Parliament in 2015, mandating all licensed financial institutions to submit credit data monthly and consult a Credit Reference Bureau before lending.
